Bucky Kids

English Language Summer Camp For 7-10 Year-Olds

Activities and Excursions

Bucky Kid’s timetable is planned and organised by a dedicated Activity Manager, who is responsible for choosing and coordinating weekly activities and excursions. One of the key responsibilities of an Activity Manager is to respond to student requests and ensure that all students have a fantastic time during their stay.

Each week, there are two full-day excursions and one half-day trip to a variety of destinations. Students are accompanied by staff on all excursions, and can be given free-time if appropriate. Popular visits include:

In 2017, students will visit areas of London outside the centre, including world-famous locations such as Kensington, Windsor, and Greenwich. Students will not be taken on excursions to Westminster, the South Bank, Oxford Street or Covent Garden in summer 2017.

Founded in the year 1542, Oxford’s historic rivalry with Cambridge dates back more than 800 years. On a tour of the city, students will see land-marks such as Carfax Tower, Bodleian Library, Christ Church Cathedral, and the ‘Bridge of Sighs’ and many Oxford University Colleges.

This seaside town is based on the South coast of England. Known for its Brighton Pier, students get the opportunity to visit the Sea Life Centre or go on the Brighton Wheel where they have sky views of England’s coastline.

On-Site Activities

The social programme is an important part of any summer school experience, and is great way for students to socialise and practice their English with each other. In addition to traditional activities such as sports tournaments, talent shows and discos, other examples of Bucksmore activities include:

Magic Marty
Our fantastic magician comes to the school and holds a spectacular display for the students. Our Bucky Kids then take part and learn how to do some extraordinary magic tricks for themselves!

Save The Egg
For this activity, students are put into small teams where they are then provided with an egg for which is then dropped from a height. The teams need create a device in order to save their egg. The aim of the game is for the egg to be dropped and arrive safely without being broken.

Scavenger Hunt
Clues are set in and around the school grounds which students follow, overcoming obstacles and challenges along the way in order to win a prize!

This traditional English boarding school is based in the village of Witley in Surrey, England. The village is positioned within an hour from London, Heathrow airport, Gatwick airport and the south coast of England giving it an ideal location for a classic summer school experience. The Witley area is made up of rural farmland and gorgeous forestry. This ideal location provides easy access to nearby cities such as London, Oxford and Portsmouth.
