The social programme and weekly excursions are all designed to link with the academic syllabus each week. Students are always busy and having fun inside and outside the classroom with the extensive social programme in Oxford.

Cultural Immersion

Live in the heart of Oxford and study with students from all over the world. d’Overbroeck’s year-round students living in Oxford join the activity programme so international students are completely immersed in the English-speaking environment.


The d’Overbroeck’s summer activity timetable is planned and organised by a dedicated Activity Manager, who is responsible for choosing and coordinating weekly activities and excursions. One of the key responsibilities of an Activity Manager is to respond to student requests and ensure that all students have a fantastic time during their stay.

The full activity programme runs in the afternoons and evenings. d’Overbroeck’s year-round students join some activities in Oxford ensuring students are always communicating in English. There are a wide range of activities. Previous years have included:

Study-in-Action Days

Each week includes two academically relevant Study in Action excursion days that form part of the academic programme. Students go on trips to places relevant to the theme of the week. Previous trips have included visits to places such as:
