Tuesday rolled around again, and it was time to say goodbye to some old friends and hello to some brand new ones.
While we waited for everyone to arrive, we chilled in the morning, in the afternoon, it was time for some serious shopping in Westfield Shopping Centre. In the evening we played some games in teams and got to know our new friends.
Wednesday started bright and early at 7.30 and, after breakfast, most of us got our first look at London on our way to class. Crossing over the River Thames we saw so many famous sights. In the morning we had to do our level test but after lunch we got to go on the London Eye! It was incredible. You can see so far! London is just enormous!
After dinner we got into groups and had to work together to construct something that would protect an egg being dropped 5 metres with balloons, straws, cardboard, etc. Everyone got super creative.
Thursday was great but intense. We had classes in the morning then, while the IELTS course continued to prepare for the exam, the Intensive English course got together in groups to start preparing our weekly project. This week we had to make a satirical video about our time in Bucksmore. All the groups had some great, but really different ideas. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out. After dinner, we played a game called Round the World, where we had to do challenges based on the countries that people on the course came from. It was really fun, and we learned a lot about our classmates´ countries.
Friday means excursion day, and this time we were off to Cambridge to see its famous University. It was incredible, like something out of Harry Potter. We had a tour around the city and visited one of the colleges and then it was time for some shopping. It was a super tiring day so when we got back, some of us watched a film and some of us chilled with our friends.
After a good night´s sleep we were back up and raring to go on Saturday. The people on the IELTS course needed all their energy as they had preparation sessions morning and afternoon. In the Intensive English course, we had fun lessons in the morning, then it was time to finish our projects and present them in front of everyone. We were super nervous, but everyone was so supportive. The videos were hilarious and, fortunately, the teachers thought so too. We were worried they might get offended, but they were laughing more than us. In the evening we had a fun quiz, and even got to see pictures of the staff when they were young. They were so cute.
Sunday was another busy day with classes in the morning followed by a visit to the Natural History Museum. It was so fascinating; you could see every type of animal imaginable – even dinosaurs. After dinner some of us went on a walking tour to see some of the famous sights of London, like Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus, and some of us hung out with our friends.
Monday! We can’t believe that this week is over already! We’ve done so much. This afternoon we went to see the new Barbie movie in the same cinema where they had the premier a few days ago. No red (or pink) carpet for us but we had a great time. In the evening we had to work together to make an advertisement for the film or the new Oppenheimer movie. Everyone chose something different; it was so creative. Time for bed now, we’ve got one more week left and we need all our energy for 7 more days of fun.
