As we approach this Friday’s International Women’s Day, we at Bucksmore are taking a moment to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women within our company.
Today, our Head Office team engaged in insightful discussions and strategies on topics such as female student representation in STEM and business fields, accessibility of sanitary products, and understanding and inclusivity around the impact of experiences like pregnancy and childbirth. These conversations are crucial, especially in a global context where our staff and students come from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Jane Schwab, Student and Activity Leader
Jane is a Biology with Spanish first-year student at the University of Manchester. She will be a Bucksmore activity leader this coming summer. She is an avid linguist, speaking English, Dutch and Spanish, and singer for her local church.
Alison Watson, Founder and Chief Executive, Class of Your Own
Alison Watson Alison Watson MBE is a former land surveyor and the founder and Chief Executive of education consultancy and social enterprise ‘Class Of Your Own’, established in 2009. She created the innovative “Design Engineer Construct!” (DEC) accredited learning programme for secondary school students, supported by world-leading companies, professional bodies and universities through the groundbreaking ‘Adopt A School’ scheme. DEC is delivered in schools throughout the UK and internationally and is embedded in social value strategies that lead to a wide range of technical and professional career opportunities for young people.
Rachel Bingham, Performer and Director of West End On Demand
Rachel Bingham Rachel Bingham is a top West End performer, teacher and the Director of West End On Demand. Rachel trained in musical theatre at the prestigious Mountview Academy Of Theatre Arts and has performed extensively. Her work includes: Les Misérables (West End); Billy Elliot (West End); The Sound Of Music (West End) to name a few. Rachel created West End On Demand to use her passion for the performing arts to encourage children and students of all ages to enhance their confidence, creativity and talents. Her teaching work includes performing arts and foundation degree performing arts, as well as guest teaching around the UK and Europe.
Ximei Lu, Graduate in Biomedical Sciences and Biology
Ximei is currently completing her post-graduate certificate in teaching (PGCE) with a specialism in Science at the University of Oxford. Prior to this, she achieved 1st class in Bsc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences. She previously worked on a research project, which focused on treating leukemia using T-cell receptors. She also worked in partnership with Reckitt Benckiser Group (RB) and designed a novel, once a week tablet for rheumatoid arthritis. Ximei has a lot of classroom teaching experience, and her aim is to ‘make science fun for everyone!’ She is currently a member of Lady Margaret Hall college.
Aliza Samorly, Political Psychologist, Educator and Artist
Aliza Samorly Aliza is a political psychologist, an educator and an artist. A Founder and Director of Imanuel Education Oxford which specialises in the advanced academic development of students at all levels and for all subjects. She has spent her career working in international education, as an academic counsellor, and as a lecturer of undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has completed with distinction both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Haifa, before undertaking doctoral study in Politics at the University of Oxford and further postgraduate and research study of International Journalism at City University London.
