Students at St. Hilda’s College have thrown themselves into their first week of their British cultural experience, learning English while engaging in a wide range of activities and excursions. On their first full day, the group went on their first excursion to the Ashmolean Museum, picking objects that they would put in their own museum exhibits, producing excellent presentations on these exhibits that gave us an insight into the minds and imagination of the students.
We also went on two full day excursions, exploring the City of Bath and parts of London, and happened to be by Tower Bridge just as Colombian warship the ARC Gloria sailed past, which all the students loved watching sail by.

We also got the opportunity to explore the Tower of London, seeing the torture chambers and prison rooms for people dating back to the time of Henry VIII and beyond.
The week has also included a range of fun activities that the students have engaged with, as they have been allowed to show their artistic and creative sides, with ‘Splash’, a water balloon drop challenge being a particular favourite among the children. The week also included students preparing a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style project presentation, with staff coming along to watch and enjoy their efforts.
