A visit to Thorpe Park, Kensington PalaceĀ and Bucky Adventure

This first week at Bucksmore has been a whirlwind of excitement. As the students settled into this new routine, there were many adventures along the way. We went on lots of different excursions; the trip to Thorpe Park was fun for everyone, with the students helping the Activity Leaders get over their fear of heights! In London, we explored Kensington Palace and the Natural History Museum – an educational experience where we learnt all about the world we live in. I’m sure some of us were surprised by the sheer number of bugs and spiders that live with us!  Back at the center, we have been spending lots of time getting in touch with our creative sides, with painting activities that prove we have some young artists among us.

The Bucky Adventurers have also had a busy week. With Kayaking, Tree Climbing and Rope Swinging, the adrenaline has not stopped pumping! These adventures have helped the students become closer with each other, since they need to develop a lot of trust while helping each other through these activities.

Within their classes, the students have been taking part in workshops and lessons that have helped them improve their English and learn important skills that will stick with the for the rest of their lives. At the end of the week, the students presented the projects they had been working on, showing everyone the sum of their hard work.
