d’Overbroeck’s College, Week 1
At d’Overbroecks, the students had a busy week, full of fun activities and engaging lessons. The students have started some significant projects, such as designing a physical rehabilitation centre for Paralympians! They have thoroughly enjoyed their subject theory lessons, learning exciting new facts about their chosen subject speciality.
We have run a range of activities for the students, but undoubtedly their favourite was the ‘Guess the Counsellor’ quiz. The students got to know more fun facts about their counsellors, and even laughed at the counsellor’s baby pictures!
Excursions this week included a whole group trip to Cambridge, where the students went ‘Punting’ on the river. The students had a wonderful time boating along the college backs and saw some incredible buildings and pieces of architecture – including the famous ‘Bridge of Sighs’.
Students also enjoyed their first ‘Study in Action’ trips! The Medicine group travelled down to Bristol and attended a fascinating Science Centre and joined in with exciting and engaging workshops. The Business and Artist students attended the ‘Museum of Brands’ in London, and took part in 2 workshops, learning about the evolution of brands, and how packaging is crucial to a brand’s survival!
Next week, the group are looking forward to a large group trip to London! This will include sightseeing the iconic London attractions and taking a visit to the Buckingham Palace state rooms! We also have even more fun activities to look forward to, such as an escape room designed by the counsellors!
The students are having a wonderful time, and we cannot wait for this next week!
