Oxford International College, Week 2
It was another exciting week at Oxford International College, with students having ample opportunities to make friends and explore the city. The week began with a trip to Oxford, where the students visited one of its most iconic museums, the Ashmolean. Touring the museum was like stepping back in time, as the students explored exhibits ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to Renaissance masterpieces. They learned a great deal about the history and significance of this prestigious center of learning, which has educated many notable figures throughout the centuries.
In the classroom, students were able to get a real taste of life at university. They attended an Oxford lecture at the Weston Lecture Theatre, gaining insight into academic life and experiencing the rigors of higher education. Additionally, they participated in a Masterclass at the Wesley Memorial Hall, where they engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on activities, further enriching their educational experience.
Beyond the classroom, the students ventured to London to visit the Royal Museums Greenwich. Here, they explored the rich maritime history of Britain, delving into exhibits at the National Maritime Museum, the historic Queen’s House, and the iconic Cutty Sark. This trip provided a deeper understanding of the UK’s naval heritage and its global impact.
The week culminated with a Graduation Ceremony at Hertford College, a truly magical finish to their UK experience. The ceremony was held in the college’s historic hall, where students received their certificates and celebrated their achievements with peers and teachers. It was a momentous occasion that marked the end of an unforgettable journey.
We are certain the students will return home with many treasured memories, having made new friends, gained valuable knowledge, and experienced the rich cultural tapestry of the UK. This week at Oxford International College has undoubtedly been a highlight of their educational journey.
