d’Overbroeck’s College, Week Four
We have had a fantastic week here at d’Overbroeck’s! The students have been busy with a variety of activities, study trips, and excursions that have sparked creativity, curiosity, and teamwork.
One of the week’s highlights was our lively “Trashion Show,” where students wowed us with their creativity by designing outfits made from recyclable materials. This fun event not only showcased their fashion sense (and catwalking skills!) but also emphasized the importance of sustainability. Our “Pub Quiz” night was another big hit, with students getting competitive and teaming up to test their knowledge across a range of topics.
The study trips this week were packed with hands-on learning. The Medic group traveled to the Centre of the Cell workshop in London, where they explored the fascinating world of immunity and monoclonal antibodies. The Business and Artists group visited the Museum of Brands, diving into the history of branding and its influence on consumer culture. The sustainable architecture group had a great time with Insider London, learning about innovative and eco-friendly design practices during an exciting walking tour of incredible London architecture.
We also enjoyed two exciting excursions as a whole group. On Wednesday, we visited the Oxford Museum, and the students also enjoyed a spot of shopping in Oxford. Thorpe Park was also a certain fan favourite on Sunday, where everyone had a blast on the rides and shared lots of laughter.
We’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our students have been this week. We look forward to the equally exciting week ahead!
