d’Overbroeck’s College, Week Five
The last week at d’Overbroecks has been a brilliant one! Wednesday took us on an enriching journey to the Ashmolean Museum, where students marvelled at historical artefacts. Inspired by the exhibits, they then got hands-on and recreated some of the artefacts using dry clay, combining artistic skills with historical appreciation.
Friday was a highlight with our Study in Action trips, tailored to our students’ areas of interest:
Engineering students visited the Silverstone Museum, diving into the world of motorsports and engineering marvels.
Medicine enthusiasts explored the Royal Institution, where they got to use research grade laboratory equipment and get hands on with Medical Research.
Business students embarked on a retail-themed walking tour of the West End, gaining insights into the dynamic world of retail.
Computer Science and AI students went to Bletchley Park, the historic site of secret codebreaking during World War II.
Art students were inspired by the masterpieces at the Wallace Collection.
Architecture students explored the magnificent collections at the V&A Museum.
To cap off the week, we all enjoyed a fantastic trip to London on Sunday. The day included a scenic River Thames boat cruise, a visit to the Royal Observatory, and an exploration of the historic Cutty Sark.
We are sad to see the students leave on Tuesday, but so incredibly proud to have been a part of their learning and experiences during their time with Bucksmore.
