Punting, the Tate Modern & a Talent Show | EFL Week 3 at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford

Written by Activity Manager, Lisa.

A Week of Fun, Friendship, and Adventure

This past week was packed with excitement, creativity, and unforgettable experiences — a perfect blend of fun and learning for all our students.

We began on Monday with Graduation Day and a fantastic Talent Show. Students confidently took the stage with singing, dancing, comedy, and more. The audience’s energy and support made the evening extra special.

Tuesday was a relaxed day, allowing students to enjoy some free time and settle in. We also welcomed a new group of arrivals, and it was wonderful to see how quickly friendships formed. The community spirit was truly heart-warming.

On Wednesday, students took part in one of Oxford’s most iconic traditions — punting on the river. The calm water and beautiful scenery offered a peaceful break midweek.

Thursday’s highlight was a trip to Bath, where students explored the Roman Baths and soaked in the charm of Georgian architecture and history.

Meanwhile, throughout the week, students worked hard on a special project presentation — creating a news-style broadcast about Bucksmore, just like the BBC! They researched, scripted, filmed, and edited their own news segments, showcasing teamwork, creativity, and communication skills. Their final presentations were thoughtful, professional, and a real highlight.

We ended the week with a fantastic Sunday in London: visiting Tate Modern, enjoying a walking tour along the Thames, and wrapping up with some well-deserved shopping.

We also had a hilarious and energetic Game Show Night, rounding out a week full of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories!
