It’s been a great week on the Pre-University Preparation Course at St Hildas college, once the students had flooded in from all corners of the world they instantly got stuck into forming close friendships through icebreakers and arrival games.
The next day students were introduced to their teachers and started their academic journey here at Bucksmore. Following that, students took a tour around the Pitt rivers museum in the centre of oxford, taking in the history and grandeur of the city.
Friday was an exciting day at the centre as the students took on Thorpe Park, riding the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the UK and winning many prizes at the arcade. The adrenaline was kept up throughout the day because of watching the world cup in the evening.
Saturday was a full day of academic studies followed by a lecture from a former graduate of Oxford University, advising them on how to get into the most prestigious Universities in the World. They then got to blow off some steam at the park for sports and yoga night.
Then it was Sunday and everyone was on their way for the big trip to London, starting with the tower of London where the students took in a thousand years of history by exploring the Norman Fortress and admiring the crown jewels. Taking to the streets of London they then took in the sites of London on a guided walking tour showing them Tower bridge, St Pauls Cathedral and many other attractions.
Overall, the first week has been a great success, with the students making firm friendships, expanding their academic interests and exploring all the UK has to offer.
