Our first week at Bucksmore KCL has been an exciting start to the summer, bringing together students from around the world to improve their English, explore London and create lifelong friendships.
Throughout the week, students have been working hard in their Intensive English and IELTS Preparation courses, developing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through engaging lessons led by our experienced teachers. Their enthusiasm and commitment in the classroom have been fantastic to see.
Big City Exploring
Outside of lessons, students have enjoyed an action-packed programme of excursions and activities. Our Royals and Politics Walking Tour introduced students to some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and the London Eye. We also spent time exploring the lively streets of Covent Garden, where students enjoyed the famous market, street performers and a taste of London’s unique atmosphere.
Students also visited two of London’s most famous attractions: St Paul’s Cathedral and the Natural History Museum. These visits gave everyone the opportunity to learn more about British history, architecture and the natural world while practising their English in authentic, real-life situations.
One of the biggest highlights of the week was our full-day excursion to Thorpe Park. Students spent the day enjoying thrilling rollercoasters, sharing laughs and making unforgettable memories together. It was wonderful to see students from so many different countries encouraging one another and enjoying every moment of the experience.
On-Site Activities & Excitement
The excitement didn’t stop there. With the FIFA World Cup underway, football fever has spread throughout Bucksmore KCL! Students have loved supporting their home countries.
Our evening programme has also helped students relax and continue building friendships. Activities such as our Sports Evening, Quiz Night, Movie Night and Partner Painting gave everyone the opportunity to socialise, work together and have fun after a busy day of lessons and sightseeing.
Perhaps the most rewarding part of the week has been watching friendships develop between students from many different nationalities. Whether exploring London’s landmarks, waiting for the next rollercoaster at Thorpe Park or cheering together during the World Cup, students have embraced every opportunity to connect with one another while building their confidence in English.
We are incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved during their first week at Bucksmore KCL and look forward to another exciting week filled with learning, adventure and unforgettable memories.
