Diving into an Action-Packed Week
It has been an absolutely unforgettable second week here at Bucksmore OIC Brighton! From the moment our students wrapped up their morning laundry and kicked off the week with high-energy Zumba sessions and intensive football matches, the campus has been buzzing with enthusiasm. Evening activities like the creative ‘Trash Fashion’ runway show and our strategic campus-wide game of ‘Manhunt’ set a fantastic, collaborative tone that carried through our entire academic and social schedule.
Mid-Week Coastal Adventures and Collaboration
Our academic program seamlessly blended intensive classroom learning with real-world exploration. Following our core morning English lessons, Wednesday saw our students heading out to the historic Brighton Pier to enjoy the coastal breeze and local sights. Back on campus, team-building workshops took center stage. Students spent valuable hours in project preparation for Bucksmore Marketing, culminating in the thrilling, problem-solving ‘Egg Drop’ challenge and a high-stakes evening game of ‘Capture the Flag’ that tested everyone’s strategy and team dynamics.
Exploring Maritime History and Creative Arts
As the week progressed, our excursions took us further afield. On Friday, the camp journeyed to the historic city of Portsmouth and the vibrant Gunwharf Quay, where students immersed themselves in maritime culture and waterfront shopping. Saturday brought a perfect balance of creativity and physical activity, featuring specialized workshops in windsurfing, custom tote bag painting, and various sports choices. The evening highlighted our students’ hard work and collaboration with spectacular final Project Presentations, demonstrating incredible growth in their communication skills.
The Ultimate Highlight: A Sun-Drenched Sunday in London
The undisputed crown jewel of the week, however, took place today during our grand excursion to London. We kicked off our Sunday morning by exploring the awe-inspiring galleries of the Natural History Museum, marveling at the world-class interactive exhibits. By the afternoon, we moved on to the royal grounds of Kensington Palace. With the mid-July summer sun beaming down and temperatures absolutely boiling hot, we surprised all the kids with delicious, refreshing ice creams right in the heart of Kensington! It was the perfect, cooling treat to wrap up an amazing day of sightseeing before heading back to campus for a well-deserved evening of relaxing chill and games.
