Rory became Managing Director of Buckswood Summer Programmes in 2007 and oversaw the growth of the company from two small summer centres into Bucksmore as it is today. In 2014, he handed over the overall management of the company to Matt Tighe. Rory and Matt are responsible for the values, direction, and vision of the company.

Matt arrived at Bucksmore Education in 2010. He is a graduate of Magdalene College, Cambridge University where he studied English Literature, followed by a year at the Judge Business School studying the Management Studies Tripos. Matt is responsible for all areas of Bucksmore and looks after the direction and growth of the organisation.
Peter Grieve - Commercial ManagerPeter Grieve, Commercial Manager peter@bucksmore.com

Peter started working for Bucksmore Education in 2013 and has experience working as an Activity Leader, Activity Manager and Centre Manager. He graduated in Chinese and Business Management and spent a year in China as a student at Nanjing University. Peter looks after the commercial interests of Bucksmore Education, including Homelingua, the Advanced Studies Program and all summer courses.

Matt has been teaching full-time since 2012 and has a DELTA qualification. Originally from Northern Ireland, Matt spent a year and a half teaching in the Czech Republic, in between working two summers at Bucksmore. Matt designs and oversees the academic content for all Bucksmore courses, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of the summer schools.

Matt first joined the Bucksmore head office team in 2014, and has experience working as a Counsellor, Director of Studies and Centre Manager at various different summer schools. Matt is responsible for the recruitment and support of seasonal staff.

Before joining the head office team, Charlotte worked at five different Bucksmore summer schools, with experience in a number of roles including Counsellor, Director of Studies and Assistant Course Director. Charlotte's role focuses on ensuring Bucksmore Education's high-quality standards are met throughout the summer.

David joined Bucksmore in June 2017 after living and teaching in Moscow for five years and managing a school. David is fluent in Russian and has an MA in Applied Linguistics, he is responsible for all academic teacher management and administration along with the CPD teacher professional training and development programme.

David has experience in teaching, teacher training, language examiner, publishing, academic research in the US, teaching university pre-sessional courses, and – most recently – developing, coordinating, and delivering a CELTA teacher training course. David holds various degrees in Humanities and Linguistics and will soon finish a PhD in syllabus design.

Having previously worked as an Activity Manager for Bucksmore across four summers, Maggie joined the head office team in September 2017. Maggie graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Event Management. Maggie is the first point of contact for bookings and enquiries from Southern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Steph has experience working as a teacher, academic course adviser and hospital business manager, and now matches students to the perfect Bucksmore course for them (both summer and home tuition), depending on a student's age, language level, academic goals, and more.

Tom graduated from Durham University with a degree in English Literature, and looks after all bookings and enquiries for students from Russia & CIS, Africa, North America and Eastern Europe.

Ed is currently a lawyer-in-training, and has joined the Bucksmore admissions team to help with all areas of student administration, including bookings, airport transfers, medical information, contact details and customer service.

Michelle has been with Bucksmore since 2009 and has over 15 years experience of arranging summer programmes in the UK for Chinese students. Michelle is a Chinese national, living in London since 1998. She holds a MBA-degree and she has overall responsibility for all Chinese business at Bucksmore.

Although the Head Office team are working on Bucksmore all year, we couldn’t run such successful programmes without the fantastic centre staff we employ in the summer. Every year we have a high percentage of returning staff who are essential to running a fantastic summer school.
