Bucksmore London’s trip to Plumpton
Friday was another big event in the Bucksmore calendar. It was Bucksmore birthday! Bucksmore is officially 40 years old and as this is considered to be a milestone we decided to celebrate it Bucksmore style! So, on Friday morning, we travelled by tube, train and coaches before arriving at party central-the Bucksmore famous Plumpton College! Plumpton is very different to London, as it’s set in the countryside but as part of the Bucksmore family we felt at home in the warm and friendly atmosphere.
In a great outdoor space, surrounded by beautiful scenery and even the odd horse or two, Bucksmore students from a variety of different centres gathered together to celebrate this great achievement. Each centre had a designated colour and London’s colour was white. As all the centres arrived, it was amazing to see all the students together, forming their own little rainbow.
The day was very fun. There were bouncy castles, penalty shootout, sumo suits, as well as an array of stalls hosting activities like the three-legged race, apple bobbing and other very imaginative ideas.
On top of this, there were also sports tournaments. The three sports students took part in were volleyball, dodgeball and bench ball. London was victorious and took home the winning trophy and eight gleaming gold medals for winning the dodgeball tournament. We are so proud of our team and the great effort and teamwork they displayed throughout the various matches. Well done London! After the sports, the students explored the rest of the carnival and had a delicious barbeque, ice cream and lots of sweets! I’m happy that London 2019 had the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful event.
