A course for ambitious students looking for a challenging experience over the Easter holidays. The academic syllabus is adapted from Bucksmore’s flagship Young Leaders course which will develop student’ confidence in their leadership skills as well as themselves. Through engaging lessons, students will develop an understanding of the weekly topic and will discover the real-life applications through project work and end-of-week presentations.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION
20 hours of academic content each week from Bucksmore’s Young Leaders syllabus including; theory lessons, interactive lectures, project research, real-life case studies and project input sessions.
Each week follows a different theme, designed as a platform to develop skills. They are not study options, but instead, provide a framework for projects and development of leadership in different areas of life.
WEEK 1: BUSINESS
During week 1, students will develop key leadership skills essential for future success, through a series of workshops focused on negotiation, public speaking and project management. Using real-life case studies such as Apple’s line management crisis or Uber’s business model, students will enhance their knowledge of the business world. They will put their new skills into practice as they learn how to create a start-up and pitch for investment.
Course outcomes:

- Realise the challenges faced by businesses in the modern world
WEEK 2: POLITICS
In Politics week, students run their own election campaign. Responsibilities include being in charge of fundraising, managing a team, leading a campaign, while also learning about the political spectrum, how laws are made, and how leadership qualities are implemented. Students are also introduced to project and time management skills as they learn to work together, apply self-study and research skills, and practice critical thinking.

- Utilise project and time management skills to produce a campaign
Students arrive on Monday morning for the course start on Monday afternoon. Final presentations on Friday afternoon each week with departures after dinner. Students can opt to stay over the weekend and enjoy two full-day excursions.
Activities and Excursions
Each day students will also enjoy an action-packed activity programme such as murder mystery, sports, movie nights, build their own terrarium workshops and local excursions around Oxford.
For students staying for two weeks or wishing to add on the weekend, there will also be two full days of excursions on Saturday and Sunday, with destinations such as Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s birthplace) and student-favourite Thorpe Park, one of the UK’s best theme parks.
