London Advanced Studies Program

An Academic Summer School For 13-16 Year Olds

Activities and Excursions

Bucksmore London’s timetable is planned and organised by a dedicated Activity Manager, who is responsible for choosing and coordinating weekly activities and excursions. One of the key responsibilities of an Activity Manager is to respond to student requests and ensure that all students have a fantastic time during their stay.

Thanks to the course’s central London location, there will be at least seven half-day visits to the city’s most famous landmarks, museums and attractions, including:

West End Musical
Every two weeks there will be a visit to a London musical. Previous theatre visits include Wicked, The Lion King and Les Miserables.

Buckingham Palace
The Queen’s London residence and one of the most famous buildings in London.

London Dungeon
A museum with special effects, rides and live actors that tells the dark side of London’s history.

Oxford Street & Soho
A chance to do some shopping in famous shops such as Hamleys, M&M World, Niketown and Primark’s flagship store.

In addition to the cultural visits in and around London, one day per week will see students going outside of London:

Founded in the year 1542, Oxford’s historic rivalry with Cambridge dates back more than 800 years. On a tour of the city, students will see land-marks such as Carfax Tower, Bodleian Library, Christ Church Cathedral, and the ‘Bridge of Sighs’ and many Oxford University Colleges.

Thorpe Park
Always a student favourite! Thorpe Park is one of Europe’s biggest and most exciting theme parks in Europe, with seven roller-coasters and five water rides.

This world-famous university city is a place of scenic beauty. Students marvel at picturesque college buildings while punting down the river, before navigating their way through Cambridge’s historic streets.

This seaside town is a classic British holiday resort. Choose to go shopping in The Lanes, ride a roller coaster on Brighton Pier or take a leisurely stroll along the beach.

The City of London

Classes are taken in the Strand campus of King’s College London, less than a mile from famous landmarks such as The British Museum, Covent Garden, The London Eye and Leicester Square. This central location allows students to easily access and explore London. Students will be accompanied by Bucksmore staff to all locations and will also be given a complimentary travelcard to help discover London.
