Course Content
Tutors
All of our tutors have a passion for their subject and a wealth
of teaching experience. Many Bucksmore tutors are Oxbridge or top UK & US university alumni. Tutorials are designed specifically by each tutor and are tailored to suit the ambitious students who attend our programmes.
The experienced Course Director, who oversees all aspects of the day-to-day programme, is a knowledgeable and friendly mentor who can offer support inside and outside the classroom.
Keynote speakers
A dynamic visiting lecturer is invited to inspire students and
help enrich their experience on programme. The guest lecturers come from a variety of backgrounds, including Oxbridge academics and industry experts.
Personal Statements
Limited to only 4,000 characters, it is important that all information included in personal statements is relevant to the subject and unique to the student. Bucksmore Education place importance on ‘character, attitude and behaviour’ and students are encouraged to evidence this within their application. Our expert Course Director guides students through personal statement workshops using mind maps, drafting, clear and concise writing and proofreading.
Debate Workshops
Students will be able to participate in debate workshops that are given in the style of the prestigious Oxford Union. They will receive guidance on debating structure and a platform upon which to practice and improve their debating skills. They will scrutinize ideas and policies, engaging with opposing views and speaking strategically. The Oxford Union has been at the forefront of debating in the UK, and across the world for over 200 years. It provides a place for people to hear new ideas and discuss the variety of opinions presented. The Oxford Union has hosted a multitude of famous names that stretch across an impressive number of industries. Past speakers include former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, the King of Pop Michael Jackson and Harry Potter star and woman’s rights activist Emma Watson.
Interview Techniques & Practice
University interviewers want students to succeed and show off their ‘best side.’ This programme provides invaluable pre-interview practice and guidance to build confidence and improve applications. Students are introduced to panel interviewing, subject related questioning, case studies and body language. Students have the opportunity to take part in realistic university-style interviews with an experienced panel. They refine and perfect their competency based answers as well as develop coping strategies for more abstract questions relating to their desired area of study. Each student receives personalised feedback after their interview practice session.
Advanced English
This session provides advanced English tuition for non-native speakers to excel in higher education and professional environments. Students will engage in hands-on activities with advanced language and vocabulary to help them succeed in oral presentations and written arguments.
Group Projects
Guided by Academic Tutors, students will work in small teams to explore and solve a real-life issue pertaining to their academic focus. They will explore the topic, set goals, and prepare a group presentation that demonstrates their knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Learning In Action Excursions
Studying doesn’t just happen in the classroom. During Learning-in-Action days, students visit destinations within the dynamic city of Warsaw that relate to their chosen academic focus.
Excursions are designed to give students insight into future careers and the real-life applications of their academic focus. There are an abundance of career paths a student can take, and we pride ourselves in showing, sometimes the not so obvious choices, that could set the students up on a rewarding and promising career journey.
