Course Information
Ideal for students interested in working in the architectural world of design, students explore the art and science of designing and engineering structures and buildings by combining the practical and theoretical elements that include making, drawing, building as well as conceptual and theoretical work. Students will learn creative ways of thinking and designing buildings, the history, theory and culture of architecture and the underlying principles of environmental and structural design.
Each week, students also have the opportunity to be inspired to take on a career in engineering through visits to destinations such as the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Students also participate in Skills Elective sessions to give them the best opportunity to build a career in architecture with sessions such as interview techniques, a cv workshop and independent learning skills.
Activities & Excursions
To ensure our students have fun, make friends and get to know the UK, we have an exciting programme of on-site activities and days out. Days out of the school are split into two types: ‘excursions’ and ‘study-in-action days’.
Study-in-action days take the learning outside the classroom. Students visit destinations related to architecture that provide real-life experiences connecting practice and profession.
Excursions are a fun way for students to visit famous landmarks and attractions with all students attending a Young Professionals course, providing an opportunity for students to mix with others from different subject streams.
