Course Information
In maximum classes of 11, learning from a specialist tutor, students enrolled on this course explore elements from a multitude of fields such as chemistry, biology, physics, geology, psychology and social science. This academic foundation gives students the grounding to excel in their future study at university and beyond.
Students also participate in practical workshops such as fingerprint identification & analysis and chemical testing. These workshops enable students to test and apply their new knowledge to solve problems, as well as building their teamwork and project management skills.
Each week, students also have the opportunity to be inspired to take on a career in engineering through visits to destinations such as the Bayer Pharmceuticals.
Students also participate in Skills Elective sessions to give them the best opportunity to build a career in engineering with sessions such as interview techniques, a cv workshop and independent learning skills.
Activities & Excursions
To ensure our students have fun, make friends and get to know the UK, we have an exciting programme of on-site activities and days out. Days out of the school are split into two types: ‘excursions’ and ‘study-in-action days’.
Study-in-action days take the learning outside the classroom. Students visit destinations related to engineering that provide real-life experiences connecting practice and profession.
Excursions are a fun way for students to visit famous landmarks and attractions with all students attending a Young Professionals course, providing an opportunity for students to mix with others from different subject streams.
