Covid Measures Bespoke Programmes for Schools
This page has been set up to outline the COVID measures in place on our Christmas Bespoke Programmes for Schools. It will be updated on a regular basis. (Last Updated 10:29 4 November 2020)
Bucksmore Education will work with the school to put together a bespoke programme taking into account the wishes of the school and the facilities available. The exact COVID measures will depend on the location, agreed programme, and the facilities available. These measures should serve as a general guide
All students on the course will only have contact with each other and designated staff who will stay with students for the duration of the course. Within the main group, students will be broken down to smaller groups, or bubbles, of no more than 15 students. This will be their main group for the duration of the course for activities, project sessions and meals. There may be occasions where there are activities for the entire group, but where this occurs students should maintain at least a 2-metre distance from students in other bubbles and limit their interaction to others within their own bubble. Where possible students will use the same classrooms/activity spaces throughout the course. Where rooms are shared between different bubbles these will be cleaned and sanitised before a different bubble uses the space.
Where excursions form part of the course these will aim to be to outdoor attractions/locations where possible, and will only proceed if permitted by government advice at the time. Students will travel by private coach to and from the destination, with designated seating to ensure appropriate distancing between students. When at the destination students will move around in their bubbles and will ensure social distancing between themselves and members of the public. Masks must be work whilst travelling by coach, as well as when entering any buildings/shops.
Bucksmore Education will work with the host school to ensure usually term-time cleaning procedures are continued for the duration of the Christmas programme.
Students will have to wear masks when walking around the site of the course. Masks can be removed when students are in their rooms, in a classroom or taking part in an activity. Masks must also be worn on excursions and at other times when requested by Bucksmore staff.
During the course if any student displays COVID symptoms guidance will be sought from the NHS and/or Public Health England. Initially, all students within the same bubble will need to self-isolate in their rooms. A COVID test will be carried out as soon as possible for the student with symptoms. If a negative test is returned the course will continue as planned for all students.
If the student with symptoms test positive they will need to remain in their room for 10 days. If after 10 days they do not have any symptoms, or only displays a cough or changes to smell and taste they will be allowed to join the course. All other students within the same bubble will have to self-isolate for 14 days from the date of the test. Bucksmore staff will take meals to the rooms of any students who have to self-isolate and will regularly check on their welfare and wellbeing. If the self-isolation period extends beyond the planned end of the course Bucksmore Education will liaise with the host school to pass over responsibility for the student’s welfare when the school term resumes. We will liaise with parents throughout any self-isolation period as required.
Due to the changing nature of the COVID pandemic, these measures will be regularly reviewed and are likely to change at short notice in order to comply with UK government guidance and regulation. We will try to provide updated guidance should these measures change drastically but this may not always be possible.
