d’Overbroeck’s- 3 Cities, 1 Week!
It’s been a packed week at d’Overbroeck’s! After Tuesday arrivals, our students got to know Oxford with a spooky active-participation Ghost Walk (with lots of time for shopping afterwards).
On Thursday, our Engineers and Medics went to Birmingham ThinkTank for a workshop on cell structure and lego mechanics. One of our students was the first person to successfully programme their lego robot to complete a maze! Our Business students went to London and had a tour of Chelsea Football club, followed by a shopping expedition to Harrods. Our Performing Arts and Media students went to the Natural History Museum and Harrods, ahead of their Study in Action tour of BBC Birmingham on Saturday.
On Friday we had a sports tournament at Cutteslowe Park, and Saturday saw us off on excursion again. Our students who were in Birmingham on Thursday went to the Natural History Museum, Harrods and Hyde Park, and the students who were in London went to Birmingham Museum & Gallery, the Canal Quarter and the Bullring shopping centre, followed by a meal out at either Byron or Pizza Express.
After project presentations on Sunday, we held a summer fete with a barbeque, apple bobbing, a three legged race, bunting making and more! Students were able to compete for prizes, food and drink. All of the bunting made is on display around the school, making it look colourful and homely.
