Jane Schwab
bucksmore activity leaderJane is a University of Manchester undergraduate, where she is studying Biology with Spanish and represents her faculty as an ambassador. She has spent time abroad at the University of Seville as a visiting researcher, studying drought-tolerance in plants. Her experience in activities coordination comes from working with Bucksmore's intensive English programmes in previous years, organising events for the RSPB and planning biweekly socials and workshops for the university's Catholic society.

Matt Leonard
bucksmore Pre-University Preparation course managerMatt is a highly qualified language teacher with a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish, a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages, a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, and a CELTA. He has over ten years’ experience and has worked in senior roles such as Safeguarding Manager and Course Director on UK summer programmes. Matt has taught a wide range of international learners and also mentored PGCE students at Queen’s University Belfast, combining academic expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. Matt will be returning to Bucksmore as the Pre-University Preparation Course Manager again in 2026

Tom Parker
bucksmore activity managerTom Parker joins Bucksmore Education as an Activity Manager, combining leadership experience from previous summers at Cambridge University with a passion for sports and outdoor learning. An architecture student at Cardiff University and a team sports enthusiast, Tom aims to create fun, safe, and inspiring experiences for young learners throughout the summer.

The college features traditional classrooms that foster an engaging academic atmosphere, complemented by reliable Wi-Fi throughout the campus. Safety is a priority, with secure electronic key access to all buildings and friendly reception staff available to assist.

Where you'll sleep
You will stay in upgraded, modern, and fully supervised residential accommodation with comfortable dormitory-style rooms.
Our boarding houses are warm, welcoming spaces that offer both personal privacy and a strong feeling of community. The charming, single or twin occupancy dorm rooms with shared bathrooms, separated by gender on each floor, are equipped with a single bed, desk, storage space, and wardrobe. Towels and bedding are provided, with regular housekeeping services.

The food
We can cater for students with allergies or dietary requirements notified to us. Our menus reflect the diversity of our students, and vegetarian and vegan options are available at all meals.
Breakfast includes fruit, cereal, toast and a cooked option, while dinner includes multiple choices of main course, dessert and a salad bar. On excursion days, a packed lunch is provided.

Bucksmore offers a free airport transfer service for all students at St Hilda's Oxford arriving and departing within our complimentary transfer window at London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW).
