We’ve gathered together your top questions on Home Tuition to help you understand how our programmes and booking processes work! We aim to update this page regularly but please contact our admissions team at info@bucksmore.com for the latest guidance and our detailed policy and procedures.
Once you have received a tutor profile you are happy with, one of our friendly Course Consultants will send you invoices with details of how to pay. You can pay via bank transfer or via our online credit card portal.
We require a deposit of GBP500 to reserve a tutor and book your course. The remaining full fees are then due no less than 60 days in advance of your course start date.
Your contact at Bucksmore will be on hand to guide you through the process if you are unsure!
Cancellations are considered in accordance with Bucksmore’s Terms and Conditions, which can be found here.
If you have to cancel your course due to visa refusal, Bucksmore will refund all fees minus a £100 admin fee.
Insurance is included in our course fees, so you will be automatically enrolled onto our insurance plan once you have booked your course. Details of the insurance can be found here. If you would like a full copy of the policy, please email info@bucksmore.com.
If you require a visa to enter the UK, Bucksmore Home Tuition will be able to provide a visa support letter once we have received payment of full fees.
We can send this to you via email, or alternatively send a paper copy to your address.
Yes!
Once you have booked and paid for your course, your tutor will contact you via email approximately one month before your course is due to start.
You can use this communication to get to know one another and ask any questions specific to your course. Your tutor will also ask you questions about your food preferences, activity and excursion requests and any specific areas of tuition you would like to focus on.
We will send you full details of the tutor in the form of enrolment documents once we have received full payment of fees, usually 60 days before your course is due to start.
If you have booked a transfer with us, one of our trusted transfer suppliers will meet you in the arrivals hall. Look for your name on a sign when you leave baggage claim!
Before you depart for your programme, we will send you your transfer documents which will contain important contact details including the driver’s name and contact telephone number, your tutor’s name, address and telephone number and Bucksmore’s emergency contact number.
If you can’t see your driver straight away, do take a second look at the name signs. If you still can’t see your driver, you can call our emergency number where a member of the team will be on hand to help you locate your driver.
You can arrive and depart at any time, but we do ask that you try to ensure you book your flights during the day (i.e. between 8am – 8pm).
If you are only able to book early or late arrival/departure flights, please do double check with us first, so that we can ensure your tutor is prepared.
Yes, you can. Some students prefer to choose their excursions according to their interests, however do bear in mind that our tutors design your timetable based around their local area in order to give you a true cultural experience.
If you request specific excursions, there may be an additional fee to cover the extra cost. Speak to your Bucksmore Course Consultant if you would like more information.
Every timetable is developed by tutors according to their student.
Lessons will normally take place on weekdays and will tend to be in the mornings, with afternoons reserved for cultural activities and excursions. The weekends are reserved for excursions and arrivals and departures.
If you have specific requests for when you would like to have your tuition, do let us, and your tutor know so that we can develop your timetable accordingly.
You will receive your timetable for the first week from your tutor before you start your course, so do make sure to check it and request any adjustments!
Our fees are all-inclusive, so your meals, accommodation, learning materials and excursions are covered.
Depending on the time of year you are attending, we suggest bringing the usual clothes you would pack for a trip abroad, plus a few warm jumpers and sensible shoes for walking. Your tutor will also be able to give you specific items to bring according to the activities and excursions they have planned, so please do ask them!
The Bucksmore Head Office team are on hand to assist at all times.
If you have any concerns at any point, please do not hesitate to contact your Course Consultant or info@bucksmore.com.
