About the college

King’s College is a world-famous prestigious university in the heart of London. It is consistently ranked among the top Universities in both the UK and the world. Classrooms take place in the Virginia Woolf building, whilst meals and activities take place in the main building on the Strand, next to Somerset House.

Founded within the tradition of the Church of England by the Duke of Wellington and King George IV, who granted the royal charter in 1829, King's has a proud history of inspiring and supporting those who seek to solve the world's most pressing problems.

From research that led to the discovery of the structure of DNA and informing air pollution awareness and policy to developing life-changing therapies – these are some of the ways that King's College continues to have a transformational impact on society.
