And so we enter the final part of the Bucksmore Magdalene course, and these last few days have been jam-packed!
On Wednesday, we voyaged to London and miraculously avoided the traffic, arriving early enough to allow us time to relax along the South Bank, soaking in the sunshine. We boarded to London Eye, rising 135m into the sky, providing us with breathtaking views of the world famous city. The panoramic view stretched over 24 miles, including the Houses of Parliament, MI6, and St Paul’s Cathedral. After alighting, we made our way to the theatre to see a production of ‘Young Frankenstein’, a comedy based on Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ that had us in fits of laughter.
Thursday night saw the transformation of Magdalene College into Magdalene Casino! Croupiers (or as they are usually known, counsellors) oversaw the thrilling high stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker, as students used their wits to outsmart their friends. Now we know who the best bluffers are amongst us!
Finally (and very sadly), we reached the graduation ceremony on Friday evening. Students received their heard earned certificates, along with some funny ones (Most likely to lose a limb). Twin Games saw 3 sets of twins go head to head to prove that they were the ultimate twin team. We laughed, we cried, we told embarrassing stories; a perfect way to end our time together.
So we say goodbye to our students at Bucksmore Magdalene – we will miss you and wish you all the luck for the future! Hopefully we will see you again next year!
