Life at the University of Oxford

On the Advanced Studies Program, we give students the opportunity to live and learn like a University of Oxford or University of Cambridge student.  As well as academic excellence, we also give students the opportunity to experience the social-side of Oxbridge life from formal dinners to punting. To give our students real insight into Oxbridge life we work with many tutors, counsellors and activity leaders who have experience studying at Oxbridge.

We spoke to our Activity Leader at Brasenose College, a current University of Oxford student, about her student life and the activities she likes doing.

“Hi, I’m Nicole, and I am in my final year of studying Human Sciences, at St John’s College Oxford. Human Sciences is a broad degree for which you study a really varied range of subjects; including genetics, anthropology, demography, and psychology! I’m constantly learning about different things which makes it super interesting and fun!

In my spare time, I enjoy painting and drawing, and studying Spanish; I attend formal classes but also do a lot of my own reading and watch Spanish TV shows. I also enjoy running, and I play college netball and football, which is a really fun way to get some exercise whilst spending time with your friends!

Once I graduate, I am really keen to travel to new places and work abroad. When I came to Oxford I started skiing and went on the annual ski trip, so I would like to work a ski season, and then travel to Spain or South America so I can put my Spanish to some use!

I’m really excited to be working with Bucksmore this summer, and can’t wait to meet you all in a couple of months”
