Our young medics here at D’overbroecks have been working extremely hard. During the EFL lessons, students have been discussing a range of issues such as how to deal with a struggling British healthcare system.
Every week students have presented to the rest of the school on areas they have been working hard on with Ms Scarlett. This includes the Introduction to Medicine students looking at how to tackle social issues related to health, such as an ageing population and a rise in obesity.
With Ms Ruth in their practical sessions, students have been in the laboratory. So far students have learnt key skills for the future using microscopes, extracting DNA from strawberries (a process involving washing up liquid) and completed a heart dissection.
