What is an IELTS Exam Preparation Summer Camp?
An IELTS Preparation summer camp in London is designed to equip students with the skills needed to excel in the IELTS exam.
At Bucksmore, students receive focused training in all aspects of the test: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Continuous assessment is used to monitor progress, build exam confidence, and highlight individual areas for improvement. Targeted practice then ensures steady development in the skills students need most.
Alongside lessons, students enjoy cultural excursions in London, allowing them to practice English in real-world contexts, enhancing both their test readiness and fluency.

Our very special English Summer Camp
The Bucksmore IELTS Preparation course aims to build strong fluency and enhance English oral and written communication skills through a fun and dynamic language curriculum.
Students study 25 hours of IELTS Exam Preparation per week to develop their English skills and prepare for the IELTS exams through a variety of engaging sessions, covering examination technique across Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing papers.
Our course also builds strong interpersonal skills such as teamwork, creativity, and confidence through project-based learning and mentorship.
Student progress is tracked and assessed continually throughout the course, and biweekly mock IELTS examinations will be marked and tailored feedback given to student from our specialist IELTS tutors. At the end of the course, students take the IELTS UKVI Academic examination at a central London test centre.

Your home from home
You'll be staying in King's College London, a vibrant and bustling campus in central London. Accommodation is located in University student residence across Waterloo Bridge and amongst iconic London landmarks such as the London Eye. Flats are equipped with communal kitchens and single, ensuite rooms.

Rebeca Duriga
DELTA, MARebeca strongly believes in learning enjoyment. To this end, she has developed numerous pedagogical materials that aim to help students find joy in the process of improving their English. In the summer of 2024, she worked with Bucksmore as the Director of Studies. After gaining Cambridge DELTA, the highest English qualification currently available, she completed an MA in Creative Writing. In the last decade, Rebeca has taught English in various cities in Poland and the UK, working for a range of well-known institutions including the British Council.

Seona Quigley
Cambridge CELTA, Bachelor of LawSeona is a highly experienced and qualified English language teacher with a Cambridge CELTA certification. She has worked with Bucksmore on our Intensive English courses and has taught across the globe, bringing a wealth of international experience to her role. Seona also holds a Bachelor of Law degree with second class honors from the University of Limerick.

Jonathan Bruce
CELTA, BAJonathan is a dedicated educator with a BA in American Studies and English (2:1 Honours) from the University of Leicester and a CELTA certification. He has taught at multiple language schools, covering Business English, IGCSE tutoring, project days in local schools, and IELTS preparation. Jonny's diverse experience and commitment to student success make him a valuable asset in any educational setting.

Saffron Chandler
trinity tesolSaffron holds the Trinity TESOL and has been teaching young and teenage international learners since arriving in Spain in September 2022. She has held many residential positions within English immersion programs across Spain, which involve conducting workshops and coordinating outdoor activities in various settings. Saffron has been an EFL Counsellor as well as an Activity Manager on Bucksmore's international programs.

Brighton
Explore the vibrant seaside city of Brighton. Stop off at the typical English seaside pier with fairground attractions, souvenir and novelty shops.
Next enjoy the view from high above on the Brighton i360 which is a giant observation pod that gives 360-degree view of the city and sea.

Windsor
Visit the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, home to 1,000 years of royal history.
Then explore the rich history of Windsor including visits to the Theatre Royal, Eton College, and time for shopping.

London Sealife Aquarium
Experience an amazing underwater world at Sea Life London, home to over 500 species in 14 themed zones and right in the centre of London!

London: St Paul’s Cathedral
Stand in awe at this Grade I listed English Baroque style building designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
This architectural feat is an icon of London’s skyline!

Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park is a theme park located in Surrey, England with over 30 rides, attractions and live events.
You will be able to experience record-breaking roller coasters, water rides, and seasonal events alongside your new friends!

London Eye

Travel and transfers
The moment you touch down in the UK, you’ll be looked after by Bucksmore staff. At the arrivals gate you’ll be met by one of our representatives and be escorted to your complimentary transfer or exclusive airport lounge (Heathrow only) to wait for your transfer.
If you’re using an airline unaccompanied minor service, you’ll be accompanied by airport staff to the Bucksmore representative on arrival, and we’ll also assist you on departure and wait with you until handed over to airport staff for your flight home.
