The Bucksmore Young Professionals Business & Global Finance course experience

The objective of the Young Professionals Business and Global Finance course is to simultaneously enhance students' subject knowledge and language proficiency, with a primary focus on the development of English language fluency, through meaningful, context-rich learning experiences. This approach fosters critical thinking and communication skills while promoting cultural awareness and the practical application of skills in real-world contexts.

What is a Young Professionals Business & Global Finance Summer Camp?

A Young Professionals Business & Global Finance summer camp at Bucksmore immerses students in the fast-paced world of global finance. Through stock market simulations, investment banking projects, startup design, and private equity challenges, you will learn how businesses are built, financed, and scaled.

Living on campus encourages teamwork and collaboration, while excursions in London - such as the Financial District - offer first-hand exposure to one of the world’s most important centres of trade and banking.

Subject Overview

This subject introduces the principles of business and finance as both an academic field and professional practice. The course balances theory with applied learning, ensuring students develop both subject knowledge and English language proficiency through meaningful, context-rich experiences. Students will explore topics such as:

  • Sales & Trading
  • Stock Markets and IPOs
  • Investment Banking
  • Private Equity
  • Startups and Entrepreneurship
  • Business Operations (Marketing, Sales, HR, Operations)

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Develop English language fluency through meaningful, context-rich learning experiences
  • Understand core principles of financial markets, business models, and corporate finance
  • Apply concepts of entrepreneurship, innovation, and risk management to real-world case studies
  • Gain insight into building and scaling a startup, including operations, sales, and marketing
  • Strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills for future careers
  • Build a portfolio of business and finance projects to support university applications

Capstone Industry Project

The project is developed and delivered by business education experts. You will apply your newly developed language, skills and knowledge by stepping into the role of investors in a "Shark Tank"-style pitch session, where you will critically appraise business ideas and products presented by industry professionals.

Drawing on your knowledge from the subject studies programme, you will analyse these pitches from a financial perspective, using business terminology and trawling through the business balance sheets! Armed with "virtual money," you will engage in negotiation and bargaining, deciding which ventures to invest in while applying your understanding of financial metrics and business strategies in a realistic and interactive setting.

You will explore the exciting world of startups and entrepreneurship in this engaging workshop.

The experience extends to London’s financial district, where you will visit the Bank of England to learn about its history and role in monetary policy.

At London Academy of Trading you will be immersed in this financial institution, focusing on daily operations and investment strategies.

You will explore market fundamentals, central bank roles, and trading platforms, learning how to analyse economic data and navigate real-world scenarios. Travel and transfers

The moment you touch down in the UK, you’ll be looked after by Bucksmore staff. At the arrivals gate you’ll be met by one of our representatives and be escorted to your complimentary transfer or exclusive airport lounge (Heathrow only) to wait for your transfer.

If you’re using an airline unaccompanied minor service, you’ll be accompanied by airport staff to the Bucksmore representative on arrival, and we’ll also assist you on departure and wait with you until handed over to airport staff for your flight home.

Our online application process takes around 5 minutes to complete. You will need to enter the details of the student, including their passport number and current school. It's also important that we gather parents and guardians information as well. 

To reserve a space on this course, a £500 reservation fee is required, payable by credit card or online bank transfer. See our cancellation and refund policy. Upon completion of your application, we can provide pre-enrolment documents including a visa support letter.
