The Bucksmore Young Professionals International Relations and Politics course experience
The objective of the Young Professionals International Relations and Politics course is to simultaneously enhance students' subject knowledge and language proficiency, with a primary focus on the development of English language fluency, through meaningful, context-rich learning experiences. This approach fosters critical thinking and communication skills while promoting cultural awareness and the practical application of skills in real-world contexts.
This course teaches business and finance concepts and methods through practical demonstrations and exercises. Here’s an overview of what we put into it and what you will get out of it:

What is a Young Professionals International Relations and Politics Summer Camp?
This programme is the best of an international relations summer camp and a politics summer course, which gives students the opportunity to explore politics and global affairs through both academic study and vocational practice.

Subject Overview
This subject introduces international relations and politics as both an academic discipline and a professional practice. Taught by specialists in politics and global affairs, lessons balance theory with applied practice.
Course content may include:

Your home from home
You'll be staying in King's College London, a vibrant and bustling campus in central London. Accommodation is located in University student residence across Waterloo Bridge and amongst iconic London landmarks such as the London Eye. Flats are equipped with communal kitchens and single, ensuite rooms.

Excursions
Oxford: Museum of Oxford
On this half-day excursion you will visit the only museum all about Oxford. The Museum tells the story of Oxford and its people through a range of social history objects and interactive displays.
Thames River Boat Cruise & Royal Museums Greenwich
Step aboard a cruise to Greenwich via the River Thames, taking in some of London’s world-famous sights along the way.
After lunch, you will explore the Cutty Sark, a historic sailing ship which was the fastest of its time!
Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park is a theme park located in Surrey, England with over 30 rides, attractions and live events.
You will be able to experience record-breaking roller coasters, water rides, and seasonal events alongside your new friends!
London: Buckingham Palace & Politics Walking Tour
You will embark on a walking tour of key locations relating to London’s rich political and royal history.
You’ll also visit the historic vibrant market area of Covent Garden. Following lunch you will enjoy a tour of the magnificent State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.
Oxford: Christ Church College
On this half-day excursion you will visit Christ Church College, an Oxford college and a city Cathedral sharing a unique historic space.
You’ll discover that Christ Church is an academic institution and a place of great historical significance.
Cambridge
Visit Cambridge and experience its historic waterways via a punting trip on the River Cam.
You will also have time to explore one of the 31 Colleges that make up the University of Cambridge – King’s College – founded by King Henry VI in 1441.
The Young Professionals International Relations & Politics course timetable
The Buckmore Young Professionals courses are designed as a two week programme to allow your child the opportunity to complete the Capstone Industry project. Students wanting to stay for four weeks should choose a different subject option for the remaining two weeks. We will have different and varied excursions each week.

Travel and transfers
The moment you touch down in the UK, you’ll be looked after by Bucksmore staff. At the arrivals gate you’ll be met by one of our representatives and be escorted to your complimentary transfer or exclusive airport lounge (Heathrow only) to wait for your transfer.
If you’re using an airline unaccompanied minor service, you’ll be accompanied by airport staff to the Bucksmore representative on arrival, and we’ll also assist you on departure and wait with you until handed over to airport staff for your flight home.
