Top 5 things to do in New York City this summer

To get you ready for an unforgettable summer in the capital of the world, we’ve made our definitive list of the top 5 things to do in New York City.

Voted the best city in the world by Time Out in 2019, there has never been a better time to visit New York. But instead of heading there in the cold, we’re looking forward to spending summer in the Big Apple. This July we are excited to bring our student-favourite Young Professionals programme to the heart of NYC at Léman Manhattan.

So stock-up on your sunblock (or sun cream as we call it in the UK) and take a look at our top 5 things to do in New York City this summer:

Statue of Liberty

An American icon, a trip to New York wouldn’t be complete without seeing the Statue of Liberty. A trip to Liberty Island in New York’s Harbour also offers spectacular views of the famous skyline.

Central Park

From Home Alone 2 to the Avengers, Central Park has provided a backdrop to hundreds of different movies. As well as movie location spotting, this urban oasis is host to multiple attractions. Why not visit its zoo and battlefields during your stay?

Time Square

If New York is the best city in the world, then Time Square is the centre of the world. Wedged between West 47th and 45th Street you feel as if you have made it to the heart of the city.

The High Line

Since it opened in 2009, The High Line has been competing with Central Park as our favourite public space in New York. This urban playground built on a historic freight rail line elevated above Manhattan’s West Side. It is a great way to experience nature, art, and amazing views of New York.

MoMA

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) hosts a world-class art collection. The permanent collection boasts the work of Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Evard Munch, Claude Monet, and Andy Warhol.

Now you’re ready to make the most of New York, find out more about our programmes available in New York City here.
