Engineering requires a minimum of intermediate (B1) level English.
This course is suitable for students ages 14-17.
Students will study mechanical engineering in week one, where they will gain an understanding of manufacturing and the design process. Students are introduced to the CAD software, an essential tool used by professional engineers, and they will learn how to create a model using CAD.
In week two, students will explore electrical engineering by examining a robotic arm and learning about 3D printing. The be introduced to Finite Element Analysis and compare to the process of building and testing.
Workshops are led by Semester Learning an award-winning online training provider for Engineering, IT and Telecoms qualification. They have partnered with leading companies around the world including Siemens, GE, Amazon, Land Rover Jaguar and the NHS.
What is the course structure?
Students will have 40 hours of contact time over two-weeks, including 15 hours of engineering workshops and 15 hours of engineering project work, plus eight hours of skills and careers workshops and two hours of guest speakers. Sessions have been carefully structured so students around the world can join us in most time zones.

Add a digital internship
For students looking to take that extra-step towards their dream job, you can choose to add a 3-day or 4-day online internship. Bucksmore has partnered with immersive career experience provider, InvestIN, to offer an immersive experience into the life of an Engineer. Available before the first week of the Bucksmore Engineering programme and at a special price for Bucksmore students, the internship is a mixture of interactive simulations, exercises and Q&A sessions.
