From sporty afternoons on the lawns to creative workshops and themed evening social events, life at a Bucksmore summer school goes far beyond English lessons. A Carefully Curated Summer Activities Programme
Our on-site activities form a core part of our summer camp programmes. Each week offers a balanced mix of social, creative, and active sessions – all designed to complement our academic enrichment courses and help students unwind after classes.
Students can expect:
- Active sessions such as football, volleyball, yoga, and outdoor games on campus lawns
- Creative workshops including arts & crafts, photography competitions, fashion challenges, or music sessions
- Evening socials like quiz nights, discos, movie nights, and international evenings
- Relaxed activities such as board games, picnics, card tournaments, and friendly competitions

Unique to Each Centre, Each Week, and Each Group of Students
No two weeks at Bucksmore summer schools look the same.
Our Activity Managers design each week’s programme based on the students they have on site, adapting sessions to suit the interests, ages, languages, and energy levels of each group.
Where possible, student requests are woven into the weekly plan, making the experience more personalised and engaging. This flexible, student-centred approach is part of what makes Bucksmore one of the most dynamic English summer camps in the UK.
Supporting Student Wellbeing
Joining an international English summer school in the UK can be exciting, but also a little overwhelming. Our on-site activities help students feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Ice-breaker games, welcome sessions, and early team challenges help students settle in quickly and start forming friendships that last long after the summer ends.
Our programmes are designed not just for fun but to support confidence, communication, wellbeing, and independence in a friendly, nurturing environment.

Led by Experts, Designed to Build Future-Ready Skills
Every Bucksmore centre has a dedicated team of Activity Leaders and Activity Managers who bring energy, creativity, and pastoral care to every session. Their role goes far beyond delivering fun activities, they help students develop soft skills and the confidence, communication skills, and independence they’ll carry into their future.
Activities are intentionally designed to build:
- Friendship & teamwork – helping international students connect and collaborate
- Confidence – encouraging students to lead, participate, and step outside their comfort zones
- Creativity – through workshops that challenge imagination and problem-solving
- Leadership – with opportunities for students to guide group tasks or represent their team
- Adaptability & resilience – through varied activities, new environments, and diverse peer groups
- Wellbeing – balancing academic study with fun, relaxation, and positive social experiences
All sessions are fully supervised and risk-assessed to the same high standards as our academic programmes, ensuring every student feels supported, safe, and empowered to grow. Through this blend of expert guidance and skill-building opportunities, students leave Bucksmore with stronger communication, greater independence, and a deeper sense of global awareness.
A Snapshot of Some Favourite Bucksmore Summer Activities
Our activity programme blends creativity, culture, teamwork, and excitement. Here are just a few student favourites:
Trash Fashion
Our brilliant Activity Leaders gather clean “trash” and recycled materials, challenging students to turn them into runway-ready fashion masterpieces. Teams design outfits, craft accessories, and end with a high-energy catwalk show that always gets the whole centre cheering.
Clay Sculpting: London Landmarks
After an exciting excursion into London, students re-create iconic landmarks in clay – from Big Ben to Tower Bridge. It’s hands-on, imaginative, and a great way to connect creatively with the city they’re exploring.
Bucky Olympics
A Bucksmore classic! Our team creates a mini Olympic sports day filled with friendly competition and plenty of laughs. Students take part in egg-and-spoon races, sack races, three-legged dashes, push-up contests, and more. Winners receive medals – often followed by a triumphant victory lap.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2026
As we prepare for the 2026 season of Bucksmore summer courses in the UK, we’re expanding and refreshing our on-site activity programme across all centres. This includes new creative workshops, enhanced activity spaces, and updated equipment and stock so every site can deliver the very best student experience.
Our goal is simple: to ensure each week is engaging, memorable, and perfectly tailored to the students on site – creating a summer filled with discovery, confidence, and connection.
