What is an English plus Science Summer Camp?
An English Plus Science summer camp combines scientific discovery with English language learning, offering a balanced programme of Science and English instruction.
At Bucksmore, students take part in workshops covering areas such as coding, robotics, forensic science, and rockets - making science both fun and accessible.
This immersive experience allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world Science projects while developing critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. Alongside technical expertise, students strengthen their communication skills in English through engaging academic lessons, collaborative projects, and cultural excursions.
We think this is one of the most hands-on and engaging science summer courses in the UK. You can find out more by downloading our Course Overview for more details.

Our very special English Summer Camp
This course is designed for motivated students who want more than just English language tuition from their summer. Students are introduced to science subjects through interactive workshops delivered by expert external providers giving them a chance to experiment, innovate, and problem-solve.
Each week will have a different science summer course theme which may include topics such as:
- Robotics- build and programme machines to complete exciting challenges
- Coding - develop programming skills and learn the logic behind technology
- Forensic Science - step into the shoes of a detective with hands-on crime scene science
- Rockets - design, build, and test rockets in thrilling engineering challenges
In addition to the Science workshops the course aims to develop English language skills through a variety of engaging sessions, including academic tutorials, group projects, conversation classes, and hands-on excursions that take learning outside the classroom.
Students also develop vital interpersonal skills such as teamwork, communication, and confidence through project-based learning and mentorship.
Student progress is tracked and assessed at the end of each course through the Bucksmore Assessment, our bespoke evaluation tool aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) scale.
