The Bucksmore Young Professionals AI and Computer Science course experience

The objective of the Young Professionals AI and Computer Science course is to simultaneously enhance students' subject knowledge and language proficiency, with a primary focus on the development of English language fluency, through meaningful, context-rich learning experiences. This approach fosters critical thinking and communication skills while promoting cultural awareness and the practical application of skills in real-world contexts.

What is a Young Professionals Computer Science Summer Camp?

A Young Professionals AI & Computer Science summer camp at Bucksmore immerses high school students in the fast-moving world of technology. Through coding workshops and AI-focused sessions, you will learn to think like a programmer, apply problem-solving strategies, and design your own intelligent systems—while developing language proficiency, with a primary focus on the development of English language fluency through meaningful, context-rich learning experiences.

Living and learning on campus encourages collaboration and networking, while specialist projects and cultural excursions provide enrichment beyond the classroom. By the end of the course, you’ll have a portfolio that demonstrates both technical ability and creative problem-solving—valuable for future academic and professional pathways.

Subject Overview

This course provides a solid foundation in both computer science and artificial intelligence while giving students a taste of what a future career in tech involves.

Students gain experience in programming, computational thinking, and the fundamentals of machine learning, while also developing problem-solving, communication, and project design skills in an academic English context.

Ideal for those interested in coding, AI, software development, or preparing for higher education and careers in the technology sector.

Capstone Industry Project

The Capstone Project is developed and delivered in collaboration with ComputerXplorers, a leading computer education company. Students use the Unity platform to create their final project, applying coding and AI concepts to a real-world challenge.

On completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion and a written assessment of their project—valuable evidence of both technical skills and English language development in a professional context.

It’s a day designed for learning, collaboration, and exploring the latest in technology!

The National Museum of Computing

Located in Bletchley Park, the principal centre for Allied code-breaking during the Second World War, the National Museum of Computing is home to the world’s largest collection of functional historic computers.

You will take part in a full-day activity schedule such as Robotics & AI which explores the ethical implications of AI programming and barriers to inclusive legislation. You will also have the opportunity to build your own 8-bit computer in the practical physics workshop.

Travel and transfers

The moment you touch down in the UK, you’ll be looked after by Bucksmore staff. At the arrivals gate you’ll be met by one of our representatives and be escorted to your complimentary transfer or exclusive airport lounge (Heathrow only) to wait for your transfer.

If you’re using an airline unaccompanied minor service, you’ll be accompanied by airport staff to the Bucksmore representative on arrival, and we’ll also assist you on departure and wait with you until handed over to airport staff for your flight home.

Our online application process takes around 5 minutes to complete. You will need to enter the details of the student, including their passport number and current school. It's also important that we gather parents and guardians information as well. 

To reserve a space on this course, a £500 reservation fee is required, payable by credit card or online bank transfer. See our cancellation and refund policy. Upon completion of your application, we can provide pre-enrolment documents including a visa support letter.
